Since 2016, Efeca has published palm oil annual progress reports as part of the UK Sustainable Palm Oil Initiative (now part of the UK Sustainable Commodities Initiative). These reports are associated with the industry-led UK Roundtable on Sourcing Palm Oil under the Partnerships for Forests programme.
Below are the links to the reports from the past two years.

As part of our palm oil support programme, funded by the UK government’s Partnerships for Forests programme, Efeca has developed a series of briefing notes to explore the use of palm oil and certified sustainable palm oil across various industries. These notes provide valuable insights and guidance for industry stakeholders:
This briefing note brings together information from scientific research to summarise how and why smallholder production of palm oil has developed to become a crucial part of the industry. It explores the challenges and barriers faced by many smallholder farmers in engaging in sustainable production practices, and summarises the benefits of sustainable palm oil production for smallholders, using case studies to showcase ongoing progress (published Jan 2022). This briefing brings together a summary of scientific research into the carbon emissions impact of palm oil, and how sustainable palm oil can reduce carbon emissions. Carbon emissions are a major area of focus in the fight against climate change, with initiatives such as the Race to Zero campaign showcasing a growing cross-sector commitment to take action. Scope 3 emissions (occurring in a company’s supply chain) are of growing importance as supply chain actors look to address their broader emissions footprints (published Jan 2022). View »
